Rosie O'Donnell Apologizes to Melania Trump After Speculating If Barron Is Autistic

The former 'The View' co-host has finally issued an apology to Mrs. Trump after speculating if her son Barron was autistic.

Rosie O'Donnell took to Twitter on Thursday, December 1 to send an apology to Melania Trump after speculating if Barron Trump was autistic. The former "The View" co-host had been receiving backlash over her mean tweet about the 10-year-old boy.

"I apologize to @MELANIATRUMP - i was insensitive in my RT - i am sorry for the pain i caused - it was not my intent - i am truly sorry," Rosie tweeted. She has since made her social media account private.

Fans showed their support for Rosie. "This is how one admits a mistake. By apologizing. Good on you Ro, you're a sweetheart," one fan wrote. "You never cease to amaze me. I understand your intent was not meant to be cruel," a second fan posted, while another one added, "She apologized Melania, now it's your husband's turn."

Rosie landed in hot water after she tweeted a video showing Barron exhibiting behaviors. She captioned it, "Barron Trump Autistic? if so - what an amazing opportunity to bring attention to the AUTISM epidemic." Fans quickly flooded her Twitter, blaming her for picking on Barron. She later clarified her stance, saying she had no ill toward Barron.

Soon after the tweet, Melania's lawyers demanded a YouTube user who posted the video to remove it. Donald Trump's wife also accused Rosie of only making the situation worse by publicizing it on social media. The anonymous YouTuber deleted the video on Thursday and published a new video as an apology.

"It was incredibly irresponsible of me to diagnose Barron Trump using a selection of misleading videos," the guy behind the video said, "I falsely correlated him trying to stay awake and occasionally doing quirky things, with him suffering from autism."
