The 'Love in the Moonlight' actress has been in the middle of filming new drama 'Clean with Passion for Now', but it has not been revealed how her health issue will affect the premiere date.
Earlier on Monday, February 26, it was reported that the "Love in the Moonlight" star needed a surgery for her condition and would need a break from all activities to recover. The agency denied the surgery report, though.
"Kim Yoo Jung went to the hospital due to exhaustion and lack of physical strength. It was discovered that there is a problem with her thyroid function," the agency stated. "It is not at the level to receive surgery, but she will focus on recovering her health while receiving treatment."
Kim Yoo Jung has been cast on upcoming JTBC drama "Clean with Passion for Now". She has finished script reading and filmed part of the drama. Her agency said regarding how her health issue would affect the filming schedule of the drama, "After much discussion with the production team, we have made the decision to focus on treatment for now. As it is a project that she has prepared hard for with much affection and passion, she will return to filming once she has recovered."
The agency added, "We thank the drama staff that understood the actress' health as the priority and adjusted the schedule in consideration. We also apologize to many people that have been waiting for the drama. Please give lots of support and encouragement so that she can greet you again in good health."
Meanwhile, a source from the upcoming series said, "We have heard the news about Kim Yoo Jung's health, and we are currently checking regarding the drama."
"Clean with Passion for Now" is slated to begin airing in April. As of now, it is still unknown whether or not Kim Yoo Jung's temporary hiatus will affect the premiere date of the new series.
