'If I'm not aware a photo is being taken, my natural resting face is one of a man dying,' the 'Deadpool' actor explains why he looked bored in the picture taken at Swift's 4th of July bash.
That couples photo was one of the highlights of Taylor Swift's 4th of July celebration last summer, thanks in large part to the face Ryan Reynolds made. In the snap, the "Deadpool" actor looked so unimpressed while surrounded by people who smiled for the camera, including his wife Blake Lively and Swift's then-boyfriend Tom Hiddleston.
Finally responding to various speculations that he was having a bad time at the party, Reynolds said in a new interview with Entertainment Weekly that the less-than-thrilled face was simply his "natural resting face."
"That's a problem I've had all my life," the 40-year-old hunk said. "If I'm not aware a photo is being taken, my natural resting face is one of a man dying. I had no idea somebody was taking a photo. Therefore I was resting comfortably in my persona of a man whose soul is visibly exiting this earth."
Reynolds had no reason to be sad at the star-studded 4th of July celebration held at Swift's Rhode Island mansion. At the same party, he was seen all smiles while joining his wife Lively as well as Swift's other A-list friends including Cara Delevingne, Gigi Hadid, Ruby Rose, Uzo Aduba and Karlie Kloss on the beach.
