A rep for the former 'Today' co-host confirms that he and his wife 'have separated for the moment to evaluate their life together.'
His lawyer Marshall Grossman also confirms the news, saying, "I can confirm they are now separated, and on a short-term break." Bush and Davis got married in April 1998 and have three daughters, Josephine, Mary and Lillie.
A source tells Page Six that Davis is "10,000 percent out of there. It's splitsville. They are done. [Billy] is not a victim." A rep for Bush, however, stresses, "It is not true that Billy's wife has left him."
Another source close to Bush explains, "They have been together for 20 years. Like all marriages, [there are] ups and downs, and it takes work. There is no specific reason ... just having been together for a long time and trying to work through a marriage ... nothing more, nothing less."
However, rumor has it that Bush's lewd conversation with Donald Trump during his days on "Access Hollywood" that was leaked in October last year left Davis upset. "She was so furious that she refused to speak with him for a while - and she's still furious. They are having marriage problems. He didn't apologize to her for the embarrassment he caused in his statement," a source said at the time.
In the outtakes from the "Access Hollywood" interview in 2005, Bush played along with Trump when the latter bragged about grabbing women "by the p***y." Due to the lewd conversation, Bush was suspended from his post as "Today" co-anchor before he was fired by NBC in October 2016.
The news of Bush and Davis' split comes as a surprise since the pair appeared to have a good time together in the summer. In June, Bush posted a photo from his daughter Lillie's graduation.
