The actor also reveals that after winning best actor in TV drama at the 2018 Golden Globes, he got around 156 congratulatory texts, one of which was from Oprah Winfrey.
"They're all in the garage, but they look nice," the "This Is Us" star, who looked dapper in a black suit and matching shades on the red carpet, shared.
Sterling, who made history just two weeks ago for being the first ever African-American male actor to win in the category of best actor in a TV drama at Golden Globes, also gushed about his life. "Life is good. We have no complaints right now," he opened up. "I get a chance to do what I love for living. I get a chance to be amongst my peers this evening. My wife and I get a night without the kids. What's not to love?"
After his win at the Golden Globes, Sterling said that he received around 156 congratulatory texts, one of which was from Oprah Winfrey. "I go through all of them and try to be as courteous and respond to all of them, but it's hard to beat the queen," he said of the famous TV personality, who was honored with the Cecil B. DeMille Award at the event.
The grateful actor went on saying that he would always remember the person he was before all the fame. "You know what I try to remember, just try to remember that, the person that I was before I got to this place in life is what allowed me to be here just remain that person," said Sterling. "You know I felt whole and complete before this stuff started to happen I feel whole and complete."
At the 2018 SAG Awards, Sterling is up for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series for his role as Randall Pearson on "This Is Us".
