The 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them' actor claims that he never went on a date with the 'Shake It Off' hitmaker.
Eddie Redmayne stopped by "Watch What Happens Live" on November 16 to talk with Andy Cohen about his newest film "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them". But during the show, a caller, who is a fan of Redmayne, asked a question that's totally out of topic.
The caller was curious about rumors that Redmayne once dated Taylor Swift. "Can you put the rumors to rest. Did you ever go out on a date with Taylor Swift?" the fan asked. Redmayne answered right away, "I absolutely can put the rumors to rest. I never went out on a date with Taylor Swift."
The Oscar winner further explained that he met the singer when she auditioned for "Les Miserables". "She was amazing in the audition. So we got to sing together, which was a big moment for me. But, no, we never went out," he added.
The British actor also defended Anne Hathaway, whom Cohen mentioned received a lot of "mishegas" after her role as Fantine in "Les Miserables". He said, "I honestly don't know because I think she's formidable and I think she was kind of extraordinary in that film."
"It was an amazing thing because we were doing it live and it was the first time any of us had done it. One person would go and sing live for the first time and come and sort of report back, about how it had gone. She basically educated the rest of us on how to do it," he shared about his experience filming with the Oscar-winning actress.
Redmayne is now happily married to Hannah Bagshawe. The pair tied the knot at Babington House in Somerset in December 2014 and welcomed a daughter, Iris Mary, in June 2016.
