The 54-year-old actor just announced on social media that he popped the question to his girlfriend of nearly two years, and she 'said yes!'
"I asked...she said yes! ...And we lived happily ever after," so he captioned the Sunday, October 22 post along with an engagement ring emoji. The 54-year-old actor posted the same photo on Facebook and Twitter and tagged Disneyland, a place he loves to visit with his new fiancee.
Stamos has been dating McHugh since early last year. The former "Two and a Half Men" star and the 31-year-old actress, who once appeared in the same "Law & Order: SVU" episode back in 2011, kept their romance under the radar until last March.
McHugh previously talked about her low-key relationship with Stamos, telling PEOPLE, "We like to keep our lives private because we've seen what relationships in the public eye can be like and we just like our privacy."
"We don't want the commentary from the masses about what our relationship is or should be. We're very happy together and we hope to be so for a long time," added the model, who has appeared on "The Vampire Diaries" and "Switched at Birth" as well as made her way to the big screen by appearing in Will Smith's "I Am Legend".
This engagement means Stamos will get married for the second time. The actor was previously married for seven years to actress/model Rebecca Romijn, whom he first met at a Victoria's Secret fashion show in which she was modeling.
Stamos and Romijin got engaged on Christmas Eve 1997, and they tied the knot in September 1998 at the Beverly Hills Hotel. They announced their separation in April 2004. The actor filed for divorce that year in August and it was finalized in March 2005.
